Greetings!
I am thrilled to be part of the great staff team at James Ward School. I have experience teaching in public schools as well as in the non-profit world. My background is in vocal and choral music, with a focus on elementary education. I have a Master's Degree in Education from National Louis University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Ohio Wesleyan University. I am currently in the process of earning my Orff-Schulwerk Certification through summer courses at DePaul University. Through my Graduate studies I became a strong advocate for keeping quality music in public schools within Chicago and supporting arts partnerships with local organizations. I am MOST passionate about creating a well rounded, engaging music experience for my students.
In my classroom, you will rarely see us sitting still! Students learn through creative movement, circle games, playing instruments, and working collaboratively. Come visit any time!
